Lots of good info that was new to me and stuff that reinforced my current understandings :)) I was raised in a family bed, too, with my mom and brother, and my kids have (and still do) sleep with me since birth (ranging in ages from 13 months to 11 years old). I really hate how the medical society acts like they have a monopoly on "safety" and "health". I feel like I should be able to be honest and be supported, but that rarely happens. I usually leave appointments feeling like I've been harassed and mistreated and bullied and treated like a dumb dangerous mom. It takes me at least a week to recover from a visit -- partly why I welcome avoiding them. Anyway, thank you again for sharing this post :)))Novahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00751799873366054473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6919751326550485549.post-87629247385237042482010-10-22T00:21:48.159-05:002010-10-22T00:21:48.159-05:00Great post! Thank you!<br />I guess I only talk about these issues with others who parent like I do, because at my daughter's first pedi visit, I let something about bed sharing slip and of course got a nice guilt trip as a result. I sort of forgot for a moment that it's not the "normal" way of doing things in our culture. Thanks for the reminder that it *is* perfectly normal outside the western world - and it's the best thing for our children if we can do it safely :)melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16698231692999838673noreply@blogger.com
